Dailies vs SupernormalThe Supernormal alternative when the deliverable you want is a short
Supernormal and Dailies both start from a call, and neither sends a bot into it. What comes out is not the same kind of thing. Supernormal’s desktop app takes notes from your computer, and its AI agents turn them into deliverables for client work: slides, follow-up emails, documents. Its help centre states that audio and video recording is not part of the desktop app. Dailies records the call in Chrome, and its deliverable is video: up to eight captioned vertical shorts cut from the best passages.

What Supernormal does
Supernormal presents itself as AI agents built for agencies. Since April 2, 2026, meeting capture goes through its desktop app only, for Mac and Windows: the app takes notes from your computer and no bot joins the call. Its former bot and its Chrome extension have been retired. From the notes, Supernormal generates slides, follow-up emails, documents, calendar invites, spreadsheets and images. Its desktop app handles meetings held in English, Spanish, Italian, German, French, Swedish and Portuguese. Its help centre states that video and audio recording is not part of the desktop app at this time, and that there are no plans to reintroduce it in the near future. The Mac app requires an Apple Silicon processor and macOS 14.4.1 or later. The meeting platforms it supports are not listed on the pages we read.
Where Dailies and Supernormal differ
Notes on one side, footage on the other
Supernormal’s help centre explains that since capture no longer goes through a bot, video and audio recording is not part of its desktop app. What the app produces is notes, and a short cannot be cut from notes. Dailies records the call tab, your microphone and your webcam, the webcam on a track of its own, and its shorts are cut from that footage.
A deck for your client, or a short for your audience
Supernormal’s output goes to your client: a deck, a document, a follow-up email, a calendar invite, made from what was said. Dailies’ output goes to your audience: shorts in vertical 9:16, with animated captions burned in and silences, filler words and false starts removed, which you download in Full HD and post yourself. Dailies writes no meeting notes, summaries or action items.
A desktop app, or a Chrome extension
Supernormal works from a desktop app on Mac or Windows; the meeting platforms it supports are not listed on the pages we read. Dailies is a Chrome extension for calls held in Chrome on Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Zoom’s web client. Neither sends a bot.
Questions people ask
Does Supernormal record the video or audio of meetings?
No. Supernormal’s help centre states that video and audio recording is not part of its desktop app at this time, and that there are no plans to reintroduce it in the near future. Since April 2, 2026, meeting capture goes through that app only, which takes notes from your computer.
Does a bot join the call with Supernormal?
No. Supernormal states that its app takes notes from your computer and that no bot joins the call; its former bot has been retired. Dailies has no bot either: it records from a Chrome extension.
Can Supernormal make clips or shorts from a call?
No. Its desktop app records no audio and no video, so there is no footage to cut. Supernormal generates slides, documents, emails and other deliverables from its notes. Dailies records the call and delivers up to eight captioned vertical shorts.
Does Dailies replace Supernormal?
No. Dailies writes no meeting notes, summaries or action items: it makes shorts from the calls it records in Chrome. For notes, slides and follow-up emails after a client meeting, Supernormal is the one to use.
Does Supernormal work for meetings in French?
Yes. Its help centre lists French among the languages of the meetings its desktop app handles, with English, Spanish, Italian, German, Swedish and Portuguese. We could not tell from the pages we read whether its interface exists in French. Dailies handles calls in French, in English and in both mixed, with an interface in French.
Your next call already holds your next shorts.
Add Dailies to Chrome, record the call you were going to have anyway, and watch its shorts a few minutes after you hang up.
