Dailies vs KrispThe Krisp alternative for turning recorded calls into shorts to post
Krisp and Dailies can both record a call from your own machine, without a bot. Krisp is a noise-cancellation app that is also a meeting assistant: it records, transcribes and summarises, working at the audio level of your device. Dailies is a Chrome extension that records the call tab, your microphone and your webcam, then cuts captioned vertical shorts from the best passages. Krisp leaves you a record of the meeting. Dailies leaves you something to post from it.

What Krisp does
Krisp is a noise-cancellation app that is also an AI meeting assistant. Its desktop apps for Windows and macOS work at the audio level of your device, so it can record and transcribe a meeting on Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Slack Huddles and others without a bot; it also has mobile apps and a Chrome extension. It offers three modes: transcript only, audio recording, or video, which comes from an optional Krisp Bot invited to the meeting or from the Screen Recording of its desktop app. Recordings are kept in the cloud, can be downloaded and play back in sync with the transcript. Krisp writes transcripts with speakers and timestamps, summaries, meeting minutes and action items, and connects to tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Asana, Jira or Slack. It transcribes 17 languages in real time, French among them.
Where Dailies and Krisp differ
Where the video comes from
Krisp records audio from your device without a bot. For video, it describes two routes: inviting its Krisp Bot to the meeting, or using the Screen Recording of its desktop app. A separate recording of your own camera is not mentioned on the pages we read. Dailies records the call tab and, apart from it, your microphone and your webcam, so a short shows you when you speak and your guest’s tile, cropped on their face, when they do.
A record of the meeting, or shorts from it
Krisp turns a call into a transcript, a summary, minutes and action items, with the recording to replay beside them. We found no clip, highlight or short feature on the Krisp pages we read. Dailies makes nothing but shorts: up to eight per call, picked by itself, in vertical 9:16, with silences, filler words and false starts removed and animated captions burned in.
What Krisp covers that Dailies leaves alone
Noise cancellation, notes and action items after each call, integrations with a CRM or a project tool, mobile apps, a transcript-only mode that records nothing. Dailies writes no meeting notes, summaries or action items, and records only the calls you hold in Chrome on Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Zoom. What it delivers is video to post, not minutes.
Questions people ask
Does Krisp need a bot to record a meeting?
Not for audio. Krisp states that it works at the audio level on your device, so no bot is needed to record sound or to transcribe. For video, it offers an optional Krisp Bot that joins the meeting, or the Screen Recording of its desktop app, which works without a bot.
Can Krisp make clips or shorts from a recording?
We found no clip, highlight or short feature on the Krisp pages we read. Krisp describes transcripts, summaries, minutes, action items and a recording you can replay and download. Dailies cuts up to eight captioned vertical shorts from each call it records.
Does Dailies replace Krisp?
No. Dailies writes no meeting notes, summaries or action items: it records the calls you hold in Chrome and turns them into shorts. Noise cancellation and minutes are what Krisp is built for.
Does Krisp transcribe French?
Yes. Krisp lists 17 languages transcribed in real time, and French is among those it handles on its servers. We could not check on the pages we read whether its interface exists in French. Dailies handles calls in French, in English and in both mixed, and its extension’s interface is in French.
Does a bot join the call with Dailies?
No. Dailies is a Chrome extension: it records the call tab, your microphone and your webcam from your browser.
Your next call already holds your next shorts.
Add Dailies to Chrome, record the call you were going to have anyway, and watch its shorts a few minutes after you hang up.
