Dailies vs LivestormThe Livestorm alternative for people whose content is said in client calls, not in webinars
Livestorm and Dailies both want a recorded conversation to end up as clips. They do not record the same conversations. Livestorm, a French company, makes webinar software: you invite an audience to a session held in its own browser room, with registration, emails and a replay, and its AI Studio, in private beta, turns that replay into clips. Dailies is no webinar platform. It is a Chrome extension that records the one-to-one calls already in your calendar, on Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Zoom, and delivers up to eight captioned vertical shorts a few minutes after each one.

What Livestorm does
Livestorm is browser-based webinar software for marketing teams. It runs live, on-demand and automated webinars and virtual events, with registration, emails and CRM integrations. Attendees join from a browser, and the host starts, pauses and stops the recording. The room takes your logo, background images and colours, sessions can be restreamed to other platforms, and live translated subtitles are an Enterprise add-on. Its AI features, in beta, add closed captions to live sessions and replays, give a transcript of the replay, and write summaries, blog posts, social media posts and emails from it. Livestorm AI Studio turns a webinar replay into clips: it detects highlights such as Q&A spikes, engagement jumps, speaker handoffs and topic shifts, cuts each into a clip with a title and captions, and lets you change the aspect ratio, edit or restyle the captions and share the clip to your channels. Its page presents AI Studio as in private beta, as an add-on to the Pro and Enterprise plans, and as working in seven languages at launch, French included.
Where Dailies and Livestorm differ
An event with an audience, or the call you already have
Livestorm records what happens in its own room: a session you schedule, promote and open to registered attendees. On the pages we read, nothing describes recording a Google Meet, Teams or Zoom call. Dailies is the other case. It organises nothing and hosts nobody: it records the client call already in your calendar, where it takes place, in Chrome. It captures the call tab, your microphone and your webcam. No bot joins the call.
Clips of a webinar replay, in private beta
Livestorm AI Studio detects the highlights of a webinar replay and cuts each into a titled, captioned clip whose aspect ratio you then choose: vertical, square or horizontal. Its page says it is currently in private beta and an add-on to the Pro and Enterprise plans, and describes it for webinars held on Livestorm. Dailies makes shorts from each call it records: up to eight, in 9:16 from the start, each reframed on whoever speaks, your webcam or your guest’s tile cropped on their face.
What is cleaned up, and who stays anonymous
Dailies cuts silences, filler words and false starts out of every short, can blur or replace the room behind you, and has one switch that blurs your guests and disguises their voice, for calls where the other person did not come to be published. On the Livestorm pages we read, we found no mention of filler-word or silence removal, of reframing on the speaker, or of a way to anonymise a participant.
What Livestorm does that Dailies does not
Registration, invitations and reminders, a room for a live audience with Q&A and polls, on-demand and automated webinars, restreaming, CRM integrations, live captions, and summaries, blog posts and emails written from a session. Dailies does none of that: it hosts no event, writes no summary, and you download each short in Full HD to post it yourself.
Questions people ask
Can Livestorm record a Google Meet, Teams or Zoom call?
We found nothing of the kind on the Livestorm pages we read. Livestorm records the sessions held in its own event room, which attendees join from a browser. Dailies records the calls you hold in Chrome on Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Zoom’s web client.
Is Livestorm AI Studio available to everyone?
Not yet, according to its own page: Livestorm presents AI Studio as currently in private beta, and as an add-on to its Pro and Enterprise plans. What this comparison says of AI Studio is what that page announces.
Does Livestorm make vertical clips of a webinar?
Its AI Studio page says each highlight of a replay is cut into a clip with a title and captions, and that you can change its aspect ratio to vertical, square or horizontal. The page does not say whether the picture is reframed on whoever speaks. AI Studio works in seven languages at launch, French among them.
Is Dailies a Livestorm alternative for webinars?
No. Dailies is no webinar platform: it has no room, no registration and no audience. It makes shorts from the calls you hold in Chrome on Meet, Teams or Zoom. For a webinar with attendees, webinar software such as Livestorm is the right kind of tool, and the two can serve the same person on different days.
Your next call already holds your next shorts.
Add Dailies to Chrome, record the call you were going to have anyway, and watch its shorts a few minutes after you hang up.
