Dailies

Dailies vs ContrastThe Contrast alternative for clips cut from client calls instead of webinars

Contrast and Dailies share an idea: once a conversation is over, an AI should hand you the clips. They apply it to different conversations. Contrast, a French company, is a webinar platform for B2B marketing teams: the webinar takes place in its own browser studio, for an audience that registered, and its Clip Ai then finds five clips in it. Dailies is no webinar platform. It is a Chrome extension that records the one-to-one calls already in your calendar, on Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Zoom, and delivers up to eight captioned vertical shorts a few minutes after each call.

What Contrast does

Contrast is a webinar platform for B2B marketing teams. The webinar is held in its own browser studio, with nothing to download, a backstage to rehearse in and up to eight speakers, and it is styled from a brand kit, with themes and layouts; blurred backgrounds are listed among its design details. Recording starts the moment you go live, and the replay downloads in Full HD. With its Local recording add-on, the help centre says each speaker is recorded on their own device, in Google Chrome, as separate video and audio files; without it, the raw recordings of individual speakers cannot be downloaded. After the webinar, its site says Clip Ai finds five clips it expects to do well on social media and adds subtitles in your brand’s colours and font; you can also make a clip by selecting a passage of the transcript. Repurpose Ai turns the transcript into blog articles, social posts and newsletters, and a summary with key highlights follows each webinar. Contrast integrates with HubSpot.

Where Dailies and Contrast differ

A webinar in its studio, or the call already planned

Contrast’s clips come from webinars run on Contrast: an event you schedule, style and open to attendees in its browser studio. Recording a Google Meet, Teams or Zoom call is not described on the pages we read. Dailies records those calls where they take place, in Chrome: the call tab, your microphone and your webcam. No bot joins the call.

Five clips per webinar, up to eight shorts per call

After a webinar, Contrast’s Clip Ai finds five clips and subtitles them in your brand’s colours and font. The pages we read do not say whether those clips are vertical or reframed on whoever speaks. Dailies picks up to eight passages per call and delivers each as a vertical 9:16 short, reframed on whoever speaks, your webcam or your guest’s tile cropped on their face, with animated captions in one of fifteen styles.

What is cut out, and who stays anonymous

Dailies removes silences, filler words and false starts from every short, and one switch blurs your guests and disguises their voice, for calls where the other person did not come to be published. On the Contrast pages we read, we found no mention of filler-word or silence removal in clips, nor of a way to anonymise a speaker. A webinar is public by design; a client call is not.

What Contrast does that Dailies does not

A studio in your brand’s colours for up to eight speakers, registration, a HubSpot integration, a replay in Full HD, a summary and key highlights after each session, and blog articles, social posts and newsletters written from its transcript. Dailies does none of that: it hosts no webinar, writes no summary, and only makes shorts from the calls it records, which you download in Full HD and post yourself.

Questions people ask

Does Contrast make clips from a webinar automatically?

Yes. Contrast’s site says that after a webinar its Clip Ai finds five clips for social media and adds subtitles in your brand’s colours and font. You can also make a clip yourself by selecting a passage of the transcript, then edit its subtitles and download it.

Are Contrast’s clips vertical?

The pages we read do not say. They describe five clips with subtitles styled from your brand kit, without stating their aspect ratio or whether the picture is reframed on the speaker. The shorts Dailies makes are vertical 9:16 and reframed on whoever speaks.

Can Contrast record a Google Meet, Teams or Zoom call?

Recording a call held on another platform is not described on the Contrast pages we read. Contrast records the webinars held in its own browser studio, from the moment you go live. Dailies records the calls you hold in Chrome on Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Zoom’s web client.

Is Dailies a Contrast alternative for webinars?

No. Dailies is no webinar platform: it has no studio, no registration and no audience. It makes shorts from client calls. A team that runs webinars needs a platform such as Contrast; someone whose advice is given call after call can get shorts from those calls with Dailies.

Your next call already holds your next shorts.

Add Dailies to Chrome, record the call you were going to have anyway, and watch its shorts a few minutes after you hang up.
