Dailies vs Spikes StudioThe Spikes Studio alternative for people who advise clients on calls rather than stream to an audience
Spikes Studio is built around broadcasts. It imports a video from YouTube, Google Drive, Vimeo or a file, and its Twitch integration turns a live stream into clips when the stream ends; scheduling and analytics come with it. Dailies is built around another kind of footage: the calls you hold in Chrome with clients, on Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Zoom. It records them and delivers captioned vertical shorts a few minutes later. Both pick the passages for you. What separates them is whether your material goes out live to an audience or is said to one client at a time.

What Spikes Studio does
Spikes Studio is an AI clip generator for YouTube, Twitch, TikTok and Reels. You import a video from YouTube, Google Drive or Vimeo, or upload a file, and a Twitch integration turns your live streams into clips once the stream has ended. Its own AI selects the clips, and their number depends on the length of the video. Each clip comes in a horizontal and a vertical version; in the editor you adjust the camera’s position, the zoom and a second camera. Captions are animated, with a choice of fonts and sizes, and its transcription covers more than 99 languages. It writes titles, descriptions and hashtags, adds automatic transitions and zooms and background music, and takes B-roll and AI images as your own assets. It schedules and posts to TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest and X, and includes analytics.
Where Dailies and Spikes Studio differ
When a stream ends, when a call ends
Spikes Studio’s automatic way in is Twitch: the stream ends and the clips are made. Everything else is imported from YouTube, Google Drive or Vimeo, or uploaded as a file. We found no call recording and no Zoom, Google Meet or Teams import on the pages we read, so a call would be recorded by the platform and brought in as a file. Dailies does for a call what that integration does for a stream: it records the call in Chrome, and the shorts arrive a few minutes after you hang up.
Who is on screen
Spikes Studio gives each clip a horizontal and a vertical version, and its editor lets you adjust the camera’s position, the zoom and a second camera. The pages we read do not say whether it follows the speaker automatically. On a call, each person sits in a tile of their own. Dailies records your webcam on a separate track and crops your guest’s tile on their face, so each short shows whoever speaks, full screen.
A guest who did not come to be broadcast
A stream is public from its first second. A client call is not: the other person came for advice. In Dailies, one switch blurs your guests and disguises their voice in every short. It also cuts silences, filler words and false starts. We found no guest blur, no voice change and no mention of silence or filler-word removal on the Spikes Studio pages we read.
What Spikes Studio does that Dailies does not
Clips from Twitch streams and from any video you import, a horizontal version next to the vertical one, titles, descriptions and hashtags, background music, analytics, and scheduled posts to TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest and X. Dailies has none of these. It only handles the calls it recorded, and you download each short in Full HD to post it yourself.
Questions people ask
Can Spikes Studio clip a Zoom, Google Meet or Teams call?
Only as a video you bring. The pages we read list YouTube, Google Drive, Vimeo and file uploads as sources, plus a Twitch integration; we found no Zoom, Meet or Teams import and no call recording on them. The call would be recorded by the platform first. Dailies records it itself, from a Chrome extension, with no bot in the call.
Does Spikes Studio work for videos in French?
Its site states that its transcription covers more than 99 languages. French is not named on the pages we read, so the table says “not stated”. Dailies handles calls in French, in English and in both mixed, and its extension’s interface is in French.
Is Dailies a Spikes Studio alternative for Twitch streams?
No. Dailies does not clip a stream or a video you import: it only makes shorts from the calls it records in Chrome on Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Zoom. For Twitch streams and YouTube videos, Spikes Studio is the tool designed for that footage.
Does Spikes Studio post clips for you?
Yes. It schedules and posts to TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest and X. Dailies does not post: you download each short in Full HD and publish it yourself.
Your next call already holds your next shorts.
Add Dailies to Chrome, record the call you were going to have anyway, and watch its shorts a few minutes after you hang up.
