Dailies vs Recast StudioThe Recast Studio alternative for client calls rather than webinars and podcasts
Recast Studio is made for marketing teams with recordings to repurpose: a webinar, a podcast, an interview or a Zoom recording goes in, and clips, audiograms, show notes and blog posts come out, ready to be posted from the same tool. Dailies is narrower. It records the calls you hold in Chrome and cuts captioned vertical shorts from their best passages, and nothing else. Recast Studio begins with an upload; Dailies begins with the call.

What Recast Studio does
Recast Studio is an AI video editor for marketing teams. You upload a podcast, a webinar or a live event, and it turns it into clips for social networks, audiograms and written content; its site also names interviews and Zoom recordings. It finds the strongest moments by itself, and you can pick a passage by highlighting it in the transcript. Auto Reframe detects faces and important scenes and adjusts the frame. It removes filler words and awkward silences, adds captions in your brand’s styles and templates, and transcribes more than 20 languages. You can add logos, fonts, B-roll and music, and get show notes and blog posts from the same recording. It publishes directly to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn and X, at once or on a schedule.
Where Dailies and Recast Studio differ
A Zoom recording to upload, or a call to hold
Recast Studio’s site names Zoom recordings among what it repurposes, and describes one way in: uploading the file. We found no recorder and no Zoom, Google Meet or Teams integration on the pages we read. In that path, the platform records the call, you download the recording, then upload it. Dailies records the call in Chrome, on Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Zoom (its web client).
Many outputs from one recording, or one
From one webinar, Recast Studio makes clips, audiograms, show notes and blog posts, and posts them to six networks, which suits a team feeding several channels. Dailies makes shorts only: up to eight per call, reframed on whoever speaks, with silences, filler words and false starts removed and animated captions burned in. It writes no notes and no summary, makes no audiogram, and you post each short yourself.
A webinar has an audience, a client call has a client
People who speak in a webinar expect to be shown. A client who joins a call came for advice. In Dailies, one switch blurs your guests and disguises their voice in every short. It also records your webcam on a track of its own and crops your guest’s tile on their face, so that a short shows whoever speaks, full screen. On the Recast Studio pages we read, we found no guest blur, no voice change, and no description of how a two-person call is laid out.
Questions people ask
Can Recast Studio record a Zoom call?
Its site speaks of Zoom recordings as something to upload, not to make. The pages we read describe uploading a podcast, a webinar or a live event, and we found no recorder and no Zoom, Meet or Teams integration there. Dailies records the call in Chrome, with no file to upload.
Does Recast Studio support French?
We could not confirm it. Its site states transcription in more than 20 languages, and the list was not on the pages we read. Dailies handles calls in French, in English and in both mixed, and its extension’s interface is in French.
Does Recast Studio publish clips to LinkedIn?
Yes. Recast Studio lists direct publishing to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn and X, immediately or on a schedule. Dailies does not post for you: you download each short in Full HD and publish it yourself.
Is Dailies a Recast Studio alternative for webinars?
No. Dailies only makes shorts from the calls it records in Chrome, and takes no uploaded file. For a webinar or a podcast that is already recorded, Recast Studio is made for that work.
Your next call already holds your next shorts.
Add Dailies to Chrome, record the call you were going to have anyway, and watch its shorts a few minutes after you hang up.
