Dailies vs Repurpose.ioThe Repurpose.io alternative for people who have nothing published yet to redistribute
Repurpose.io and Dailies sit at opposite ends of the same chain. Repurpose.io is about distribution: it takes a video or a podcast that already exists on one platform and republishes it to others, resized and captioned, through workflows that run by themselves. Dailies is about the first video. It records the calls you hold in Chrome on Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Zoom, and cuts up to eight captioned vertical shorts from each, which you then post yourself. One needs content to move. The other makes it.

What Repurpose.io does
Repurpose.io is a distribution automation tool. You connect sources where your content already lives (its site names TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Zoom, Google Drive, Dropbox and Webex) and build workflows that republish each video to other destinations, automatically or on a schedule; its help desk lists YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Dropbox and Google Drive among them. On the way, videos are converted to vertical or square, and captions and a headline can be burned in, with a progress bar and custom templates. Audio podcasts become audiograms, and post captions can be written by AI. For clips, its help desk describes a Video Snippet Tool in which you set the section to keep, a default snippet running from 0 to 55 seconds. For Zoom, it reads cloud recordings once your Zoom account is connected.
Where Dailies and Repurpose.io differ
Moving content, or making it
A Repurpose.io workflow needs a source: a video on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or Facebook, a file in Google Drive or Dropbox, a recording in Zoom or Webex. If no video exists yet, there is nothing for it to move. Dailies works before that point. It records your call in Chrome and gives you the shorts, the first things you will have to post.
A call on Zoom, Meet or Teams
For Zoom, Repurpose.io’s help desk describes recording the meeting to Zoom’s cloud, then connecting the Zoom account so the recording can be picked up. Google Meet and Microsoft Teams are not named on the pages we read. Dailies records calls on all three from a Chrome extension: the call tab, your microphone, and your webcam on a track of its own.
Who cuts the clip
Repurpose.io’s help desk describes a Video Snippet Tool in which you choose which section of a video becomes a clip; we found no automatic picking of moments, no reframing on the speaker and no removal of silences or filler words on the pages we read. Dailies picks up to eight passages per call itself, reframes each on whoever speaks and cuts out silences, filler words and false starts.
What Repurpose.io does that Dailies does not
It publishes for you. Workflows send each new video to your other platforms automatically or on a schedule, resized, with captions and a headline burned in, and turn audio podcasts into audiograms. Dailies posts nothing: you download each short in Full HD and publish it yourself. The two can follow one another, Dailies making the shorts and a tool like Repurpose.io spreading what you post.
Questions people ask
Can Repurpose.io record a Zoom call?
It does not record the call itself. Its help desk describes recording the meeting with Zoom’s “Record to the Cloud” option, then connecting your Zoom account so Repurpose.io can read the cloud recording. Google Meet and Microsoft Teams are not named on the pages we read. Dailies records calls on all three itself, from Chrome.
Does Repurpose.io pick the best moments of a video?
We found no automatic selection on the pages we read. Its help desk describes a Video Snippet Tool in which you choose the section yourself, with a default snippet covering the first 55 seconds. That is what those pages show, not a statement by Repurpose.io about everything it can do. Dailies picks up to eight passages per call by itself.
Does Dailies post to social networks like Repurpose.io?
No. Dailies does not post or schedule anything: you download each short in Full HD and publish it yourself on LinkedIn, TikTok, Reels or Shorts. Automatic distribution is what Repurpose.io is built for.
Can I use Dailies and Repurpose.io together?
They do different jobs, so nothing stops you. Dailies makes the shorts from your calls; Repurpose.io republishes content from the sources it connects to, such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or a Google Drive folder. We have not tested the two together.
Your next call already holds your next shorts.
Add Dailies to Chrome, record the call you were going to have anyway, and watch its shorts a few minutes after you hang up.
