Dailies vs SendShortThe SendShort alternative for shorts cut from the calls you hold with clients
SendShort makes short videos in two ways: by clipping a long recording you upload, or from scratch, with an AI avatar or a faceless video written from text. Dailies makes them one way only, from a call you really held: it records the call in Chrome and cuts captioned vertical shorts from its best passages. Choosing between them is mostly a matter of what you want to show, and of where your footage is today.

What SendShort does
SendShort creates, edits and schedules short-form videos. You upload a video file or paste a YouTube link, and connectors let Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants import and clip for you. Its AI watches the whole recording, scores every moment for retention and hands you the clips it finds worth posting. It exports 9:16, 1:1 and 16:9 versions in a single pass, with the speaker tracked and centred, and adds word-by-word animated captions in more than 35 styles, with subtitles and translation in more than 100 languages. It cuts silences, and adds B-roll, zooms, overlays and sound effects where attention drops, with hooks, fonts and brand kits. It also makes videos from scratch: an AI Avatar Studio, faceless videos from text and TikTok slideshows. Exports go up to 4K at 30 or 60 frames per second, shorts being rendered in 1080 by 1920 by default, and a scheduler posts to TikTok and YouTube.
Where Dailies and SendShort differ
An upload, or a recording made for you
SendShort’s inputs are a video file or a YouTube link, given by hand or through a chat assistant. We found no call recording and no Zoom, Google Meet or Teams import on the pages we read: a call would be recorded with the platform, then uploaded. Dailies records the call itself in Chrome, with the call tab, your microphone and your webcam on a track of its own, and its shorts are ready a few minutes after you hang up.
A video made from scratch, or something you really said
SendShort can produce a video without any footage: an avatar, a faceless video written from text, a slideshow. Dailies goes the other way. You are on screen, in a call you were going to hold anyway, saying what you said to a real client. Every short is a passage of the call it recorded, reframed on whoever speaks and captioned.
The person you were talking to
The other person on a client call came for advice, not for an audience. In Dailies, one switch blurs your guests and disguises their voice in every short. On the SendShort pages we read, we found no way to blur a guest or to change a voice.
What SendShort does that Dailies does not
Avatars and faceless videos, B-roll added automatically, translation into more than 100 languages, exports up to 4K, three aspect ratios at once, a scheduler for TikTok and YouTube, and connectors for chat assistants. You will find none of these in Dailies, which makes vertical shorts from the calls it recorded, in Full HD, and leaves the posting to you.
Questions people ask
Can SendShort record a Zoom, Google Meet or Teams call?
The pages we read describe two inputs, a video file or a YouTube link, which a chat assistant can also send. We found no call recording and no Zoom, Meet or Teams import there, so a call would be recorded with the platform first, then uploaded. Dailies captures the call in Chrome as it happens.
Does SendShort make videos without filming?
Yes, in its own way: its AI Avatar Studio, its faceless videos from text and its TikTok slideshows need no footage. Dailies also asks you to film nothing, for another reason: it records the calls you already hold, and its shorts show you as you were on the call.
Does SendShort schedule posts?
Yes. The scheduler its site describes posts to TikTok and YouTube; we found no other network named on the pages we read. Dailies does not post for you: you download each short in Full HD and publish it yourself, on LinkedIn, TikTok, Reels or Shorts.
Is Dailies a SendShort alternative for a YouTube video?
No. Dailies edits no video you upload or link: it only makes shorts from the calls it records in Chrome. For a long video you already have, SendShort is the kind of tool to look at.
Your next call already holds your next shorts.
Add Dailies to Chrome, record the call you were going to have anyway, and watch its shorts a few minutes after you hang up.
