Dailies

Founders: your content is already being shot, on your calls

Dailies is a Chrome extension that records your video calls and cuts captioned vertical shorts from them, ready to post. Nobody talks about your company better than you do, and nobody has less time to do it. Founder-led content rarely fails for want of ideas: it fails on a Sunday evening, in front of a camera. Yet you make the case for your vision all week long, on calls, to prospects, customers and other founders.

Which of a founder’s calls make a good short?

You change hats several times a day, and you wear each of them on a call. Dailies reads each recorded call and keeps up to eight passages of 12 to 90 seconds that stand on their own: the ones where you say why your company exists.

  1. Selling

You still run the first demos yourself, and that is where your pitch rings truest: a customer objects, and you answer without going through a slide deck.

  2. Supporting customers

Onboarding, the quarterly review: that is where you see how the product is really used and where people go wrong. The advice you give every new customer speaks to those who are still hesitating.

  3. Explaining your choices

A customer asks why the product makes a given choice. You tell the story of the decision and what you ruled out: the reason behind a product choice, said simply, by the person who made it.

  4. Debating

A conversation with another founder, a panel held by video call: someone pushes back, and you defend your reading of the market. Conviction shows, and it can be posted.

Why start from your calls rather than a video shoot?

  • Your vision is at its best there

Facing someone who doubts, you find the right words. Facing a camera, you recite. The passages where you win over a customer or a partner are the ones that will win over the next ones too.

  • Not one evening to give up

You add nothing to your week: no filming, no editing, no writer to brief. The calls happen anyway; the shorts are ready a few minutes after you hang up.

  • You decide what goes out

Nothing is posted for you. You download in Full HD the shorts you stand behind and you post them yourself. One switch blurs the people you talk to and disguises their voice.

What kind of shorts can a founder post?

These are the kinds of titles a founder’s shorts carry. They are answers you have already given, to someone who needed to hear them before following you.

  • Why us and not a competitor

  • What we decided not to do

  • The problem before the product

  • The mistake every new customer makes

  • Why this price

  • What our first customer told us

How does Dailies work?

  1. Record the call you were going to have anyway.

Open your call in Chrome and press record. Dailies captures the call, your microphone and your webcam.

  2. It finds the moments worth posting.

Dailies reads the whole call and keeps up to eight passages that stand on their own. Silences, filler and false starts are cut out.

  3. Reframed for a phone, on whoever is speaking.

Each short fills the vertical frame with your webcam, or with your guest when they speak. One switch blurs your guests.

  4. Captioned in fifteen flavors.

Pick a look once and every short follows: font, colours, motion, even the backdrop behind you.

  5. One call, up to eight shorts.

Watch them a few minutes after you hang up, download the ones you like in Full HD, and post them on LinkedIn, TikTok, Reels or Shorts.

What about the confidentiality of your calls?

What I say on a call belongs to my clients: can I make shorts from it?

What your client paid for is an answer to their own situation, and that is not what Dailies looks for. It rates every passage on what it reveals that is private or confidential, turns down those that reveal something and keeps the ones that make sense outside the call: a piece of advice, a method, an opinion. That is a model’s judgement, not a guarantee. So nothing is posted for you: you watch every short, and when one does not suit you, you say why and Dailies leaves that subject out of your next calls. Your contract with your client remains the rule.

Nobody must know I work with this client: what do the shorts show?

One switch blurs your guests and disguises their voice in all your shorts; on a new account, it is on from the start. A short mostly shows you, explaining. That leaves what is said: if a passage names your client or describes their company, the blur changes nothing. That is why Dailies turns down the passages that reveal something private, and why you have the last word: a short Dailies proposes is not a short that is posted.

Do my calls stay stored on a server?

Your calls do reach a server, since Dailies has to receive them to cut your shorts from them, but the original files do not stay there: the sound and picture of a processed call are deleted 10 days after processing, 15 days at the latest. What stays is what your shorts are made of, that is, the only pieces of video they use, and the call’s transcript, until you delete the call, which you can do at any time. You choose which calls you record, and your recordings train no model.

Frequently asked questions

What is founder-led content, and how do you make it with no time?

Founder-led content is content carried by the founder in person and not by the brand. The simplest way to make it is to start from what you already say: Dailies records the calls you hold in Chrome and cuts up to eight captioned vertical shorts per call from them, with nothing to film or edit.

Which calls should a founder not record?

A founder should not record job interviews: a candidate is in no position to refuse. Nor whatever is confidential by nature, such as a conversation with an investor or the negotiation of a contract. For your other calls, tell the people you talk to before you begin; in the shorts Dailies cuts, one switch blurs them and disguises their voice.

Can my team use Dailies too?

Yes. Dailies is installed in the Chrome of the person who speaks, and that is who the shorts show: everyone on the team who holds calls can record their own, on Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Zoom.

Does Dailies post on LinkedIn for me?

No. You download each Dailies short in Full HD and post it yourself, on LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts. Dailies connects to none of your accounts.

Which languages does Dailies handle?

Dailies handles calls in French and in English. Your recordings train no model, neither ours nor anyone else’s.
