Dailies vs Spinach AIThe Spinach AI alternative for client calls that should end as shorts, not as tickets
Spinach AI and Dailies both record the meeting, video included, and that is where they part. Spinach AI works for the team that attended: it sends a summary, lists the decisions and turns action items into tickets, recap emails and CRM updates. Dailies works for the people who were not there: it cuts the best passages of your call into captioned vertical shorts you can post. The same recording has two uses, and each tool serves only one of them.

What Spinach AI does
Spinach AI is an AI meeting assistant operated by StayIn, Inc. It joins the meetings on your calendar as a bot, which is let in from the waiting room, and its help centre covers Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex and Slack huddles. It records and transcribes, then sends a summary with action items and decisions, from templates per type of meeting. Action items become tickets in tools such as Jira, recap emails and CRM updates, and Ask Spinach answers questions about past meetings. The video of the meeting is kept: you can watch it, download it, and share it with the summary and the transcript. A Quick Record mode, in the browser, is meant for in-person conversations through the microphone; its guide says it does no tab recording and does not support Google Meet for now. Recordings made elsewhere can be uploaded to be summarised. Its homepage counts 100 languages for transcripts and summaries, and French is in its help centre’s list.
Where Dailies and Spinach AI differ
The recording as a record, the recording as footage
Spinach AI keeps the video of a meeting so that you can replay it, download it or share it whole with named recipients. We found no clip, snippet or highlight feature on the pages we read. Dailies works on the passages: it picks up to eight by itself and delivers each as a vertical 9:16 short, reframed on whoever speaks, with animated captions burned in and the silences, filler words and false starts cut out.
Work that follows the meeting, or content that leaves it
A Spinach AI summary lists what was decided and what is left to do, and its action items turn into tickets, recap emails and CRM updates. That is work for the people who attended. Dailies writes no meeting notes, summaries or action items and creates no ticket. Its shorts are for an audience: you download each one in Full HD and post it yourself on LinkedIn, TikTok, Reels or Shorts.
A bot from the calendar, or an extension in Chrome
Spinach AI joins through the calendar invitation and is let in from the waiting room. Its Quick Record mode captures through the microphone, from the browser; by its own guide it does no tab recording and does not support Google Meet at the moment. Dailies records the call tab, your microphone and your webcam from a Chrome extension, on Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Zoom’s web client. No bot joins the call.
Questions people ask
Can Spinach AI make clips of a meeting?
We found no clip, snippet or highlight feature on the Spinach AI pages we read. Its help centre describes viewing and downloading the video of a meeting, and sharing the summary, transcript and video with named recipients. Dailies cuts up to eight captioned vertical shorts from each call it records.
Does Spinach AI record the video of a meeting?
Yes. Its help centre says you can view the video recording of a meeting and download your videos, alongside the transcript and the summary. Dailies records video too, the call tab and your webcam on a track of its own, and uses it to make shorts.
Does Dailies replace Spinach AI?
No. Dailies writes no summary, no decisions and no action items, and it creates no ticket. It makes shorts from the calls you hold in Chrome. A recap for your team and content for your audience are not the same work, and Dailies only does the second.
Does Spinach AI join the call as a bot?
Yes. Spinach AI joins the meeting through the calendar invitation and is let in from the waiting room. Its Quick Record mode is another way to capture, through the microphone in the browser, meant for in-person conversations. Dailies records from a Chrome extension, with no bot in the call.
Does Spinach AI work for meetings in French?
Yes. French is in the list of supported languages of its help centre, and its homepage counts 100 languages for transcripts and summaries. Its site is in English on the pages we read. Dailies handles calls in French, in English and in both mixed, and its extension’s interface is in French.
Your next call already holds your next shorts.
Add Dailies to Chrome, record the call you were going to have anyway, and watch its shorts a few minutes after you hang up.
