Dailies vs JiminnyThe Jiminny alternative for people who want shorts of their own calls, not coaching for a team
Jiminny and Dailies both keep what is said to a customer, for opposite purposes. Jiminny is conversation intelligence for sales teams: it captures and analyses emails, phone calls and video calls so that leaders can coach their people and see what wins deals. Dailies is a Chrome extension for the person holding the call: it records that call and cuts captioned vertical shorts from its best passages. They are compared here because both make clips of a call, and those clips are not the same thing.

What Jiminny does
Jiminny is a conversation and revenue intelligence platform for sales teams. It captures and analyses emails, phone calls and video calls so that leaders can coach and see what wins deals. For video meetings, a bot joins the call: its help centre lists cases where a meeting is not recorded, such as the bot not being let in from the lobby. Zoom and Microsoft Teams are the platforms named on the pages we read. Phone calls go through its own dialler, and it also records in-person conversations and has an uploader for recordings made elsewhere. It writes transcripts, AI summaries and action items, logs calls in the CRM, and offers live coaching, scorecards and insights on deals and pipeline. Jiminny states that it transcribes conversations in over 60 languages. Its snippets are made by hand: you drag over part of a call on the playback waveform, then share the snippet by link, email or Slack, or group it in a playlist.
Where Dailies and Jiminny differ
A team to coach, or an audience to reach
Jiminny is built around a sales leader’s questions: which calls took place, what was said, how each person handled it, what to coach next. Its live coaching, scorecards and pipeline insights all serve that. Dailies asks one question, for the person who held the call: what did I say here that deserves to be posted. It scores nothing, logs nothing in a CRM and writes no summary or action items. Neither one stands in for the other.
Snippets to coach with, shorts to post
A Jiminny snippet is a stretch of a call you select yourself, by dragging over the playback waveform or clicking the scissors icon, then share by link, email or Slack or add to a playlist. The pages we read mention no vertical format, burned-in captions, reframing or removal of silences. Dailies picks up to eight passages per call by itself and delivers each as a vertical 9:16 short, reframed on whoever speaks, with animated captions in one of fifteen styles and without its silences, filler words and false starts.
A bot let in from the lobby, or an extension
Jiminny records a video meeting through a bot that joins it; its help centre explains that a meeting is not recorded when the bot is not let in from the lobby or is removed. Dailies records from Chrome, on Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Zoom’s web client: the call tab, your microphone and your webcam, the webcam on a track of its own. No bot joins the call.
Where Jiminny goes and Dailies does not
Phone calls through its own dialler, in-person conversations, emails, a mobile app, CRM logging, summaries and action items, questions asked over past meetings. None of that is in Dailies. It records only the calls you hold in Chrome, writes no meeting notes, and what it hands back is video: shorts you download in Full HD and post yourself on LinkedIn, TikTok, Reels or Shorts.
Questions people ask
Can Jiminny make clips of a call?
Yes, it calls them snippets. You drag over part of the call on the playback waveform below the video player, or click the scissors icon to create a five-minute snippet. A snippet can be shared by link, email or Slack, also with people who do not use Jiminny, and grouped in a playlist. The pages we read mention no vertical format, burned-in captions or reframing.
Is Dailies an alternative to Jiminny for a sales team?
No. Dailies offers no coaching, no scorecards, no CRM logging and no pipeline insights, and it writes no summary. It records the calls you hold in Chrome and cuts captioned vertical shorts from them. For recording and coaching a whole sales team’s calls, Jiminny is the kind of tool built for that.
Does Jiminny send a bot to the meeting?
Yes, for video meetings. Its help centre describes cases where a meeting is not recorded because the bot was not let in from the lobby, the lobby timed out or the bot was removed. Dailies records from a Chrome extension, with no bot in the call.
Does Jiminny transcribe calls in French?
Jiminny states that it automatically detects and transcribes conversations in over 60 languages. We did not find the list of those languages on the pages we read, so we cannot confirm French by name. Dailies handles calls in French, in English and in both mixed, and its extension’s interface is in French.
Your next call already holds your next shorts.
Add Dailies to Chrome, record the call you were going to have anyway, and watch its shorts a few minutes after you hang up.
