Dailies

Dailies vs ZencastrThe Zencastr alternative for people whose content is in client calls, not episodes

Zencastr and Dailies both turn a conversation into captioned clips for TikTok, Shorts and Reels without you editing anything. They do not start from the same conversation. Zencastr is a podcast platform: you record a show with guests in its studio, an AI it calls your Producer edits it, and the episode is hosted and distributed from there. Dailies is a Chrome extension for the calls you already hold on Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Zoom, from which it cuts up to eight vertical shorts a few minutes after you hang up.

What Zencastr does

Zencastr is a podcast platform: it records audio and video with guests, edits by chat, then hosts and distributes the show. Recording happens in its own studio, in the browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave) or its iOS app. Each person’s audio and video are captured on their own device and uploaded as the recording goes, on a separate track per participant, for up to six people, in up to 4K. A guest joins from a link, with no sign-up and no download on a computer. An AI it calls your Producer cuts filler words, repeated phrases, long pauses and dead air, finds the moments worth clipping and turns them into short videos for TikTok, Shorts and Reels, with styled captions burned in and sized for each platform; you can also tell it what to clip. Clips can be posted and scheduled to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn and X. Clipping works in English, French, German, Spanish and Portuguese. Zencastr also offers livestreaming, show notes, cover art and monetisation programmes.

Where Dailies and Zencastr differ

A podcast studio, or the call in your calendar

Zencastr records the conversations held in its studio, and its recording page sets itself apart from Zoom and Meet. Your guest joins a Zencastr link and, on an iPhone or iPad, needs its app. Dailies works the other way round: the call stays on Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Zoom, and the extension records it from Chrome, with no bot in the call.

Who is on screen in a clip

Zencastr’s clips page says its clips are sized for each platform, with captions burned in. How a clip is framed when two people talk is not described on the pages we read. Dailies records your webcam on a track of its own and crops your guest’s tile on their face: each short shows whoever speaks, full screen, you or your guest.

An episode guest, or a client

A podcast guest came to be heard by an audience. A client on a call did not. Dailies has one switch that blurs your guests and disguises their voice, and it can blur or replace the room behind you. We found neither option on the Zencastr pages we read.

What Zencastr does that Dailies does not

Podcast hosting and distribution, livestreaming, editing by chat, show notes and cover art, monetisation programmes, and clips posted and scheduled to six networks. Dailies does none of that: it only handles the calls it recorded in Chrome, and you download each short in Full HD to post it yourself.

Questions people ask

Can Zencastr record a Zoom or Google Meet call?

We found no such feature on the Zencastr pages we read. Zencastr records the conversations held in its own studio, in the browser or its iOS app, and its recording page sets itself apart from Zoom and Meet. Dailies records the calls you hold in Chrome on Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

Does Zencastr make clips for TikTok, Reels and Shorts?

Yes. Its Producer finds the moments of a recording and clips them into short videos for TikTok, Shorts and Reels, with captions burned in and sized for each platform, and you can tell it what to clip. The clips can then be posted and scheduled to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn and X.

Does Zencastr work in French?

For clips and text-based editing, yes: French is one of the five languages its pages list, with English, German, Spanish and Portuguese. We did not find whether its interface exists in French. Dailies handles calls in French, in English and in both mixed, and its extension is in French.

Is Dailies a Zencastr alternative for a podcast?

No. Dailies records no episode, hosts no show and distributes nothing: it makes shorts from the calls you hold in Chrome on Meet, Teams or Zoom. To produce and publish a podcast, a platform such as Zencastr is the right kind of tool.

Your next call already holds your next shorts.

Add Dailies to Chrome, record the call you were going to have anyway, and watch its shorts a few minutes after you hang up.
