Dailies vs TypefullyThe Typefully alternative for people who say it better on a call than in a thread
Typefully is built for people who write: a focused editor for posts and threads, then a calendar that publishes them on X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Threads and Mastodon. Dailies is built for people who talk. It is a Chrome extension that records the calls you hold on Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Zoom and cuts captioned vertical shorts from the passages worth posting. The two do not compete for the same task: Typefully makes no video, and Dailies makes only video. Which one you need depends on where your best ideas come out, at a keyboard or in a conversation.

What Typefully does
Typefully presents itself as an AI-powered, collaborative social media scheduler for X, LinkedIn, Bluesky and Threads; it posts to Mastodon as well. At its centre is a writing editor, with previews of the post as it will appear, AI rewriting that learns your voice and a calendar to schedule what you wrote. Teams share drafts and comment on them. Its site also lists LinkedIn PDF carousels, auto-plug and auto-retweet, analytics, a Mac app, an API and an MCP server for AI agents. On LinkedIn, it publishes text, images, videos and GIFs: a video you already have can be attached to a post, and it goes out unedited. It also offers a tool that downloads the video of a LinkedIn post, and AI alt text for images. Typefully records and produces no video. Instagram, TikTok and YouTube are not among the platforms named on the pages we read.
Where Dailies and Typefully differ
A blank editor, or a call you were holding anyway
Typefully begins with a draft. You write the post or the thread, its AI helps you rework it in your voice, and you schedule it. That suits people for whom writing is the easy part. Dailies begins with a call: you hold it in Chrome as planned, and it picks the passages worth posting by itself, up to eight per call, with their silences, filler words and false starts cut out. Nothing to write, and nothing to film on purpose.
Threads to read, shorts to watch
What Typefully publishes is text first: posts, threads, LinkedIn PDF carousels, with the media you attach to them. It makes no video. What Dailies delivers is video only: vertical 9:16 shorts reframed on whoever speaks, your webcam or your guest’s tile cropped on their face, with animated captions burned in and a line above each one, the question it answers.
Where each one publishes
Typefully posts for you on X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Threads and Mastodon, on the schedule you set. Dailies does not post for you: you download each short in Full HD, for LinkedIn, TikTok, Reels or Shorts. The two meet on LinkedIn, where Typefully can publish a video attached to a post. Instagram, TikTok and YouTube are not among the platforms named on the Typefully pages we read; since Dailies’ shorts are downloaded, you can post them there yourself.
What Typefully does that Dailies does not
An editor to write in, AI rewriting in your voice, a scheduling calendar, drafts shared and commented by a team, analytics, an API. Dailies has none of these. It only makes shorts from the calls it records in Chrome, and leaves the posting to you. Someone who writes threads every week and also holds client calls can use both: Typefully for what they write, Dailies for what they said.
Questions people ask
Can Typefully post videos?
On LinkedIn, yes: its site says you can publish text-only posts, images, videos and GIFs there. The video is one you already have, attached to the post, and Typefully does not edit it. Instagram, TikTok and YouTube are not among the platforms named on the pages we read.
Does Typefully make video clips or shorts?
No video is made in Typefully, from what its site describes: it is a writing editor and a scheduler, and video comes in as an attachment. It also offers a tool that downloads the video of a LinkedIn post. Dailies is the one that makes shorts: it records your call in Chrome and delivers them captioned, a few minutes after the call.
Is Dailies a Typefully alternative?
Only if you want to stop writing and publish video of what you said instead. Dailies only makes shorts from the calls it records, and does not post for you. For drafting and scheduling posts and threads, a tool such as Typefully is what you need, and nothing prevents using both.
Can I schedule a Dailies short with Typefully?
On LinkedIn, yes, from what its site describes: you download the short from Dailies in Full HD and attach it to a LinkedIn post in Typefully, which publishes videos there. Typefully does not change the video. TikTok, Instagram and YouTube are not among the platforms its pages name: there, you post the file yourself.
Your next call already holds your next shorts.
Add Dailies to Chrome, record the call you were going to have anyway, and watch its shorts a few minutes after you hang up.
